Intro to IFS Course
Learn about IFS at your own pace.
This pre-recorded course is for people who are versed in providing gender/trans-inclusive care and want to learn basic IFS concepts. Appropriate for beginners and a great way to get a sense of whether you’d like to invest in more comprehensive IFS training, such as our IFS Foundations course or an IFS Institute Level 1 training. The learnings can be applied to work with people of all genders/sexualities.
We’ve been really excited about being able to offer this to anyone who wants to learn more about the IFS model.
Just a little backstory…we (Nic and Sand) have been collaborating with each other for almost four years now. We bonded over our mutual love for IFS and our shared experiences as queer and trans IFS clinicians. In January 2022, we launched our live online IFS Foundations course and we also started to offer special topic workshops. We’ve been overwhelmed by how many people are interested in taking our course and learning from us in community. And, it’s been really challenging for us to have to turn away hundreds of people who apply each time. That led us to where we are now.
We envision this course as a way for clinicians (of all genders/sexualities) to learn the basics of the IFS model. We know that more comprehensive IFS trainings can be cost-prohibitive and time-consuming. Our hope is that this introduction can lay some groundwork and help you decide whether you want to invest in further training. We deeply value the experiential nature of live IFS trainings, and we also know that it might be an easier entrypoint to get started with some of the basics at your own pace.
In this course we will present the ways that we use and adapt the model. We will share some of our experiences applying IFS as a model that can support individual and collective liberation. We will offer some history and context related to the development of the model, introduce you to the overarching flow of the model, and teach fundamental building blocks in supporting your clients being in relationship with their own parts. Through guided meditations and reflection prompts, you will also get to know your system of parts better.
