None of Your Busy-ness! Divesting from Grind Culture and Workaholism Through an IFS Lens

Friday August 4, 2023 from 9-10:30 am PDT

A 90-minute Zoom workshop with Sand Chang, PhD

What does a Self-led relationship to work, time, and activity look like?

How do we work with the parts of us that have been affected by capitalism, white supremacy, and grind culture?

If workaholism and burnout are individualized constructs, how does system change occur?

In this 90-minute workshop, Dr. Sand Chang will help participants to examine the ways in which grind culture and capitalism have necessitated the development of workaholic or busy parts of us to aid in our survival. We will discuss the ways in which colonialism, white supremacy, and capitalism pervade our relationship not just to paid work, but to how we spend our time or subjugate our bodies. Through an IFS lens, participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their own parts as well as how to work with clients who are addicted to busy-ness.

This workshop will be led by Sand Chang, PhD (they/them), IFS Institute Assistant Trainer Mentee (ATM), Approved Consultant, and Level 3 Certified IFS therapist. Learn more about Sand here.
