Food For Thought: IFS, Body Trust, and Eating Disorders
Friday July 7, 2023 from 9-10:30 am PDT
A 90-minute Zoom workshop with Sand Chang, PhD
What does a Self-led relationship to food look like?
How do we work with the parts of us that have been affected by diet culture?
In this 90-minute workshop, Dr. Sand Chang will provide information on how to apply Internal Family Systems (IFS) to working with eating disorders and supporting collective body liberation. A Body Trust lens will be utilized in discussing the concept of Self-led relationships to food, movement, and exercise. The training will contain both didactic and experiential portions and will be divided into four main segments: 1) Diet culture in context, 2) Grounding in IFS and Body Trust frameworks, 3) IFS applications for eating disorders, 4) Case examples.
For a brief overview of IFS, please watch this video.
This workshop will be led by Sand Chang, PhD (they/them), IFS Institute Assistant Trainer Mentee (ATM), Approved Consultant, and Level 3 Certified IFS therapist. Learn more about Sand here.
